Bells Beach is arguably Australia's most famous beach for surfers. Swells up to six metres make this landmark a compulsory stop for experienced board riders. Protected by government, Bells Beach is a natural icon set between the Great Ocean Road towns of Torquay and Anglesea.
The beach has been celebrated by surfers for its environmental qualities. The water is a deep blue and unaffected by pollution. The shore is surround by yellow ochre cliff which plunges into the sea.

The name comes from the Bells family in the 1840's who ran the first pastoral run in the area. The beach was only recognised for surfing 100 years later, however access was a problem for the long boards of the time. Eventually a path was created by keen surfer Joe Sweeney and now Bells Beach holds the annual Rip Curl Pro.
Grab your board and head down to the famous Bells Beach surf.
