Security PolicyFlight Centre's online booking facilities utilise Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption to ensure the security of all online booking transactions. SSL encryption is automatically enabled whenever the user submits confidential information to Flight Centre via the Internet. SSL is a commonly used protocol for managing the security of data transmission over the Internet. SSL is based upon the public-and-private key encryption system developed by Rivest, Shamir & Adleman (RSA). Within Flight Centre's online booking facilities there are two methods of transmitting credit card information to the booking; either the user submits their details during the booking process or, if the user has an existing profile, the information is sent directly from Flight Centre's profile database into the booking, bypassing the Internet entirely. In addition to the automated SSL encryption, Flight Centre has established multiple checks: Flight Centre staff closely monitor the number of bookings per day per customer and the number of bookings per day per credit card number. Secondly, in order to check-in for either flights or hotels, customers must provide a legal, currently valid, government-recognised form of photo identification such as a Driver License or Passport. |
