The Hong Kong calendar is filled with vibrant, colourful festive occasions you can enjoy throughout the year.

The Hong Kong Winterfest is a magical celebration of the Christmas season with special events designed for couples and families. And shopping for presents is a dream during the winter sales! Visit Hong Kong Winterfest during 24th November 2006 - 1st January 2007.

Chinese New Year is a feast for the senses with fragrant flower markets, dazzling fireworks, shimmering light shows and an enthralling international parade. In 2007, Chinese New Year's day falls on 18th February 2007.

The months of April & May cover the fascinating rituals surrounding the Birthday of the Lord Buddha and the deities Tin Hau and Tam Kung, as well as the colourful Cheung Chau Bun Festival. The Bun Festival includes a carnival like parade featuring venerated deities and the island's youngsters dressed in stunning costumes being carried thru the town on stilts. Check out the huge bun towers and enjoy the festivities.

In summer, the fantastic Hong Kong Shopping Festival is your passport to retail paradise. Visitors can also claim extra shopping treats and enjoy special deals at many restaurants. This mega events runs from mid-June to late August.

The Mid-Autumn Festival (Sep/Oct) celebrates the harvest moon and is a special time for children and families, who take colourful lanterns to parks, beaches and hilltops to gaze at the moon.
