Frequently Asked QuestionsThese are the answers to the questions most people ask us. If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please contact us. 1. When do I pay for my flights? We ask for a non-refundable deposit of $100 when you book an international flight. Your Flight Centre consultant will advise you about final payment details at that time. Usually, we require full payment six weeks before your departure date for international bookings. Payment for domestic flights is required immediately upon confirmation or within three days, depending on the fare type - your Flight Centre consultant can help you with these details. 2. How do I pay for my flights? You can pay by cash, credit card, cheque or BPay. Your Flight Centre consultant can advise you which payment method is appropriate and the processes involved. Credit card conditions may apply on certain special fares. 3. When will my credit card account be debited? For most airline bookings, the debit takes place when the ticket is issued. For domestic bookings, this happens immediately when you pay, and for international bookings, this happens within 48 hours. For all other travel arrangements, your credit card account will be debited upon payment. 4. How private are my personal details? Our Privacy Policy ensures your right to privacy. We will not share your information outside of Flight Centre Limited without your authority to do so. 5. Is there a fee to use Flight Centre? For in-store and phone bookings, a service fee from $10 (domestic air) and from $15 (trans-Tasman air) will apply. Flight Centre does not charge customers a fee to make land travel arrangements. Fees may be charged to change or cancel bookings. Please check with your Flight Centre consultant for conditions when booking. 6. How do I amend a booking? To change or cancel a booking, simply email your Flight Centre consultant, or call them on 133 133. Please note that some airfares are non-refundable and/or non-changeable and/or airline charges /cancellation fees may apply. Please ask your Flight Centre consultant about this when you book. 7. How and when can I get my ticket and other travel documents?Once you have paid in full, we contact the airline and/or travel supplier and request your travel documents. In most cases, airline tickets are issued within 24 to 48 hours. Unless otherwise requested, other travel documents are issued 14 days before you travel. We send these documents to you by Express Post within Australia unless other arrangements have been made. 8. How can I pick up my airline eTicket? You no longer need to receive a paper ticket before travelling in Australia.Electronic Tickets (eTickets) are a convenient new way of managing your travel that means you'll never have to worry about losing or forgetting your ticket. When you travel on an eTicket, your details are stored in the airline computer system. Simply go directly to the check-in counter at the airport and present a current photo ID (driver's license or passport). There, you'll receive your boarding pass, and you are on your way. 9. What if I lose my ticket? If you have lost your ticket prior to the day of travel, please contact us. We will send you a Lost Ticket Indemnity form for you to complete. This will help the airline reissue your ticket. Please take note that most airlines usually charge a reissue fee. If you lose your ticket on the day you depart, contact the airline when you arrive at the airport - they will organise a replacement. 10. What if I need to cancel my booking? How do I obtain a refund? It's important you understand that airline charges and cancellation fees may apply to your particular airfare or travel arrangements. Refunds can only be provided by the airline or travel supplier in accordance with these terms and conditions. To apply for a refund, return your unused airline ticket and travel documents, together with a covering letter, to your consultant. Airline refunds may take up to 12 weeks. 11. How do I know the terms and conditions of the airfare purchased?Terms and conditions are different depending on the airline and the type of ticket you buy. Please ask your Flight Centre consultant for the details of any cancellation fees, amendment fees and other terms and conditions. 12.
