Safari Holidays

One of the hottest trends in adventure travel is safari holidays – and for good reason. If you have ever wanted to track lions or elephants in Africa or experience an adventure to the ancient landscape of Outback Australia, there are plenty of safari adventure trips to choose from.

Just imagine getting up close to the wildlife in Tanzania or in the Okavango Delta area of Botswana. Tanzania is a country of amazing contrasts where you can explore the diversity of the Usambara Mountains or be guided by villagers to lookouts such as Irente Viewpoint and take in the panoramic views over the sweeping Maasai plains far below. Explore the stunning Tarangire National Park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with experienced guides. If you are lucky you may see a black rhino or a leopard as well as elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras and lions. You could even go on to the Jozani Forest where rare red colobus monkeys make their home.

Perhaps you would prefer a visit to Kenya's magnificent wildlife parks. On this adventure tour you could visit Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and the Maasai Mara, three of the finest wildlife reserves in Africa. At Mbweha Camp, in the private conservancy area, you can take part in an escorted walk among the wildlife. Birdlife abounds here as well as giraffes, antelopes and zebras.

One of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti region is without doubt the wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinvei. This area of pristine beauty has savannah plains, water courses, riverine forest and rolling hills. The Maasai people own this area and it holds a large variety of animals including a large pride of lions.

Another country that offers choice safaris is Australia. The wide open spaces of this land have a lot to offer. Take a 4WD journey to the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park, view ancient Aboriginal rock art and the spectacular variety of birdlife in the wetlands. Go across the country to the eye–dazzling azure of the Arafura Sea and take a boat ride to see the historic Victoria Settlement. Back on land, explore the paperbark swamps and billabongs to the east.

If you would prefer a more relaxed safari, South Australia offers adventure tours from Adelaide to Coober Pedy taking in the Clare Valley vineyards before driving through the Southern Flinders Ranges where you can experience magnificent views from the ridges. Further north you reach the rugged mountains where crystal clear water, geological treasures and Aboriginal culture abound. Leaving the Flinders Ranges, you can visit the old camel town of Maree, up the Oodnadatta track to the Lyndhurst ochre pits and Lake Eyre to indulge in relaxing thermal springs. West of here is Coober Pedy, world renowned for opals and where the locals live underground.

Other options for safaris abound, including the Arctic Wilderness, so if safari adventure holidays are something you would enjoy, don't waste another minute – start planning your safari adventure package today.
