Thailand has a major train system that can help you get from Bangkok to Lopburi in no time. When in Bangkok, the city's bus system can help you see the city. Travel on the outer islands is best done on foot, tuk tuk or motorcycle taxi. For a unique way to see the secluded spots of Thailand, take an island tour on a long-tail boat or yacht.

Climate

Thailand has characteristically tropical weather, experiencing warm and humid days for most of the year. Its year round average temperature is a warm 27 degrees. Rain is also very common throughout the year, particularly in September when temperatures are incredibly hot and the wet season is at its peak. The best time to visit Thailand is over the Christmas break when the weather is not too warm and the days are much dryer.

Food

Thai food is one of the countries notable highlights, with many foodies visiting the country purely for the cuisine. If you have the time, take a Thai cooking class and develop a new and delicious skill. Or, if you'd rather eat than cook, be sure to try Pad Thai stir fry and Tom Yam Goong, a spicy prawn soup.

Insider Tips

Thailand is a huge holiday destination, but it's not all crowds and resorts. In Thailand there is still much to explore and discover so don't be afraid to wander away from the resort strips and get off the beaten track. The locals here are friendly and the isolated parts of Thailand are simply magnificent.
