As with most holidays, it's a good idea to plan your Thailand activities and transport in advance.
Sightseeing & Activities
A trip to Thailand wouldn't be complete without experiencing some of the many sights, sounds and tastes of Thailand.
Why not ride an elephant? Besides carrying half the nation and its tourist, elephants symbolise good fortune. Take a half-day elephant trek and be sure to take home a trunk-painted work of art!
Take a river cruise of Bangkok's Chao Phraya River. A cruise on an old converted teakwood rice barge makes for a magical evening. Experience Bangkok's temples, houses on stilts and long-tail boats, a more traditional way of life unique to those living along the water's edge.
Cruise Phang Nga Bay. Best seen via sea canoe, this bay near Phuket is breathtaking. Tours often showcase amazing caves, the local mangroves and intricate rock formations.
Smile at a Crocodile. Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm in Bangkok was founded in 1950, and is home to more than 60,000 reptiles including Yai, the world largest croc at 6 metres.

Transportation
By now you probably have plenty in mind to see and do. Therefore, you need to plan how you're going to get around. Bus and train are convenient methods of transportation in Thailand as they're quite inexpensive. In particular, the Skytrain in Bangkok is an efficient way to get around the traffic-clogged streets.
Another option many travellers choose is rental. Cars, jeeps, motorcycles and vans can be rented everywhere, with car rental places quite prevalent. Why not try out some local transport such as Taxi Tuk-tuks (motorised rickshaw), Samlors (bicycle rickshaw) or songthaews (small pick-ups)? To get the best prices, it's best to bargain and agree on a fare before departure. So to book in advance, visit our car rental section.
