Day 1 Athens
Travel to Greece's thriving metropolis, Athens. If arriving early, perhaps explore the ancient Acropolis and be sure to stop by to watch the changing of the guard at Syntagma Square. Dine on traditional Greek cuisine and end the day with a quick nip of ouzo.
Days 2-3 Syros
Leave behind the city pace of Athens and begin the Greek Islands adventure on Syros. Follow the footpaths of Syros through small villages to see farms, terraced fields and fabulous, sandy beaches. Perhaps spend an evening in a taverna to appreciate the traditional Rembetiko music the area is known for.
Days 4-5 Mykonos
Saunter among bronzed bodies on legendary Mykonos beaches or discover secluded seaside hideaways out of town. Explore labyrinthine streets in the main village and head to the nearby island of Delos, the mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. At night, discover the nightlife Mykonos is famous for while out partying with the locals.
Days 6-8 Santorini
Located on the edges of an enormous caldera, the island of Santorini is known for its whitewashed buildings and black sand beaches. Take the opportunity to rub shoulders with the locals and feast on fresh seafood as the sun melts into the ocean at Oia.
Days 9-10 Ios
Winding past characteristic Aegean architecture, the narrow paths of Ios's main village are blissfully free of cars. Follow stairs down to remote beaches, visit one of the 365 churches and chapels or climb to the top of the hill in Hora for panoramic views.
Days 11-13 Naxos
Discover stories of racy mythology during a stay on Naxos and be sure to try the local wine - it's reputed to be the antidote to a broken heart. Hike between charming villages, past Byzantine churches and enjoy free time exploring the residential paths of the 13th-century Kastro.
Days 14-15 Athens
Travel back to Athens and further explore this ancient city before toasting the conclusion of this fabulous Greek Islands odyssey.
