Arrive in the city of Fes and feel transported back in time in this medieval city. Take a walking tour through the medina, visit the Jewish Quarter, wander past the Royal Palace and witness a myriad of beautiful mosques and fascinating twisting alleyways. Spend a day in Volubilis and be spellbound by the ancient Roman ruins that stand beautifully preserved by the dry desert air. Then travel to Meknes to visit the old Bab Mansour medina and a wealth of historical sites that give an insight into what life was like over 2,000 years ago.
Day 4 Erfoud
Travel across the cedar-clad mountains and into the desert to the old garrison town of Erfoud - the sunset over the desert dunes is an extraordinary experience.
Day 5 Merzouga
Spend a relaxing day sipping mint tea among the peacefulness of the Merzouga dunes, part of the beguiling Sahara Desert.
Day 6 Desert Camp
Watch a stirring sunrise over the desert. Take a camel trek to a desert camp and spend the evening listening to music, dining on traditional Moroccan food and sleeping in Bedouin-style tents.
Day 7 Todra Gorge
Take a walk through the atmospheric Todra Gorge region with deserted kasbahs, mud-brick villages and friendly locals shepherding their herds.
Days 8-9 Atlas Mountains
Visit Dades Gorge then head to Boutaghrar, our base in the Atlas Mountains. Spend two days exploring gentle mountain tracks through the Mgoun Valley and Valley of the Roses. Take your time - and the opportunity to explore villages and stop at the many spectacular views of this timeless region.
Day 10 Ait Benhaddou
This alluring city is home to some of the best preserved kasbahs in Morocco. It's a joy to wander around this hill town with its red-earth walls, crumbling towers and feeling as if time stood still.
Day 11 Marrakech
Drive across the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, through the dramatic High Atlas Mountains, to the alluring city of Marrakech. There is much to see in this town dating from the 11th century - vibrant souqs, twisting alleyways, atmospheric cafes, the renowned Koutoubia Minaret and famous Djemaa el-Fna square.
Days 12-13 Essaouira
Take a morning walking tour of Marrakech's city centre and enchanting souq. Head to the beautiful seaside town of Essaouira - once a pirates' hideout! This labyrinthine city centre is surrounded by defensive battlements and fortresses that look out over the ocean, which are wonderful places to explore with the kids.
Days 14-15 Marrakech
Perhaps explore Palais de la Bahia and step into Morocco's royal past, wander the souq in search of a unique souvenir or relax in a café in Djemma el-Fna and watch the world go by.
