Days 1-2 Anchorage/Kenai Fjords National Park
Originally a construction headquarters for the Alaskan Railroad, Anchorage is now a sophisticated city in the heart of the Alaskan outdoors. Take in the city's modern vibes before heading out onto the remote Kenai Peninsula and exploring Kenai Fjords National Park. Hike in the high-country of the Harding Icefields, try some fishing in one of the many lakes or enjoy a spectacular cruise through Resurrection Bay and Aialik Fjord.
Days 3-4 Valdez
Take a ferry through Prince William Sound en route to Valdez. Admire Alaska's rugged coastline and see icebergs crumbling from the massive Colombia Glacier.
Day 5 Maclaren Lodge
Spend a night at the base of the towering Maclaren Glacier and stay in a traditional log building, keeping warm with an authentic stone fireplace. Watch the sun set over the Alaskan wilderness before retiring to the lodge for the night.
Days 6-8 Denali National Park
Climb Thompson Pass, traverse Wrangell-St Elias National Park and admire Alaska's stunning scenery while travelling on the Old Denali Highway. Keep an eye out for wild caribou, wolves and Dall sheep among the pristine backcountry of Denali National Park. Take a scenic bus ride before indulging in some optional outdoor activities including river rafting, a scenic flight or a good old-fashioned hike.

Spend a day travelling on Alaska's remote highways before returning to civilisation in Anchorage.
