5 Fun Super Bowl 50 Experiences In San Fran

Super Bowl 50 will be hosted on February 7, 2016 in the City of Santa Clara (68 kilometres south of San Francisco) at the state-of-the-art Levi’s Stadium – the most technologically advanced professional football stadium in the United States.

The action on the field will be pumping and the grandstands will be overflowing with excitement, but there’s no need to feel left out if you’re in the city without a ticket.

1. Free Performance By Alicia Keys

15-time Grammy Award-winning superstar and Levi’s Ambassador Alicia Keys will headline a free concert the night before the main event on the City Stage at Super Bowl City – an all-ages event offering interactive activities, live CBS broadcasting and plenty of food!

Located at Justin Herman Plaza on the Embarcadero near the Ferry Building, the week-long event is open to the general public from 30 January – 6 February.

2. San Francisco Symphony

The San Francisco Symphony (3-4 February) celebrates the Bay Area’s Super Bowl 50 with concerts featuring the iconic music and film making of Emmy Award-winning NFL Films.

The Symphony will provide live orchestral accompaniment to a selection of short documentaries, with the events hosted by the NFL Hall of Fame running back Marcus Allen.

3. SFO Museum

To celebrate Super Bowl 50, SFO Museum is presenting a selection of memorabilia and artefacts from each of the league’s 32 franchises.

Among the objects on display are game-worn items belonging to Hall of Famers across generations including Joe Montana’s home jersey, Walter Payton’s helmet and Jim Brown’s shoulder pads.

4. Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl Cafe

Gott’s Roadside eatery within the Ferry Building, will host Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl Cafe, showcasing live replicas of the annual Puppy Bowl featuring loveable animals playing on a mock football field – lots of fuzzy faces, sloppy kisses and puppy penalties!

A Puppy Bowl Virtual Reality component will allow fans to visually transport themselves to a football game among the animals! The cafe will serve food and beverages daily from 4-7 February.

5. 2016 Maxim Super Bowl Party

The 2016 Maxim Super Bowl Party (6 February) will feature performances from popular artists including A$AP Rocky and Lil Wayne.

The over-the-top party taking place on Treasure Island will showcase incredible city views, theatrical lighting and effects and an interactive ‘Dodge Thrill Ride’ experience!
