Australian Border Strike Resumes Today

Update: Monday, April 4 at 10am

The union representing the Australian Immigration and Border Patrol Protection workers has called off the industrial action that saw strikes at international airports across Australia. Normal services will resume at all international airports around Australia today.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Australian Immigration and Border Protection strike resumes today after being postponed over the Easter long weekend. As per our previous report, strike action will extend into April, affecting international airports around Australia.

Please refer to our earlier report for strike times in March. Read below for strike times in April for each state.

Travellers flying into and departing from Australia should expect delays of up to three hours during the scheduled strike times. Cruise passenger terminals may also be affected.

Give yourself additional time at the airport and be sure to contact your travel insurance provider and travel consultant if the delays cause you to miss connecting flights.

I love the kind of travelling that is one part strategic planning and two parts spontaneous adventure. Whether I'm exploring my local city or a small town in the middle of nowhere, I'm always hoping to find something no one else has discovered.
