Packing

When packing you should be aware that some sharp objects such as nail scissors, nail files and clippers cannot be taken on as part of your carry-on luggage. These items can however be placed in your stowed away luggage.

Tips

• Always obey the law, never purchase, use or travel with drugs of any form
• Never let anyone else pack your luggage and never let a stranger mind your luggage, even if just for a moment
• Make sure that your luggage is secured at all times, and clearly labelled with your name and phone number
• Never carry anything into or out of another country for someone else

Luggage

It is essential when preparing for a trip that you have accurate information on the sort of luggage you are able to have as carry-on and the weight limit you have for your checked-in luggage.

When it comes to carry-on luggage, each airline has its own restrictions, but generally all state that the weight of your bag to be carried on or stored in the overhead lockers cannot exceed 7kg. You may also carry on such items as walking sticks, laptops or raincoats.

You cannot exceed 100ml of liquid in your carry-on items. There have also been additional security checks introduced into nearly all international and domestic airports, so you need to ensure you have plenty of time to go through customs etc.
