The Pavillion is the centre of activity in Bondi, where visitors flock to park, eat and shop. The nearby beach area is the most popular spot for a swim, where good waves can be caught but clear of the rougher southern waves. North Bondi is the safest place to swim, it is patrolled and has relatively calm seas, although visitors should watch out for rips especially along the rocks at the north end of the beach. To those not confident in the sea, there are baths at the southern end, perfect for a bit of lap swimming of just a soak.
