Tin Shed Pottery is a shared artistic workplace situated in Launceston, northern Tasmania.
The Shed offers an affordable workspace to aspiring and experienced artists with individual display areas. Resident at present are 11 artists practicing a diverse range of arts and crafts as well as being home to the Northern Branch of the Tasmanian Potter’s Society. Tin Shed Pottery is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
The resident artists work in various disciplines including functional, decorative and sculptural ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing and basketry. There is also a glass bead artist and a textile artist specialising in natural fabrics and natural dyes, as well as our other potters, painters and basket-makers.
Visitors to the Shed can commission or purchase work in a variety of styles and designs, from rustic earthenware garden pots to finely thrown ceramic giftware, watercolours and oil paintings, prints, charcoal drawings and mixed media work.
Come in and browse through the remarkable range of quality work. Experience the creative ambiance, talk to and watch the artists at work and buy direct from the maker.
Tin Shed Pottery is only five minutes from the city centre, and two minutes’ walk from the Queen Victoria Museum.
