Paddington is a charming and attractive precinct well known for its traditional Queenslander houses that dot the hills amongst large, leafy trees. But if you’re after some action, make sure you head for the meandering main strips of Latrobe Terrace and Given Terrace that run right through the heart of Paddington.

Along these two joining roads, you’ll find the majority of popular and energetic nightclubs and bars on Given Terrace, where the action doesn’t stop until the early hours of the morning. They’re all conveniently close together, so if you like to do a bit of bar hopping, this is the place for you. On the food front, there’s the cool beer garden at the Caxton Hotel serving great steaks. And just across the road, the famous Gambaro’s Seafood restaurant is a must for any visitor.
Further west up on Latrobe Terrace, the pace is a little less frenetic, and is more about taking your time shopping and uncovering some unusual items. There’s a wide selection of cafes, quirky collectables, vintage boutiques, designer fashions, retro stores, home wares and artwork to be found.
