Sydney Harbour, one of the most picturesque and well known harbours of the world is a quintessential Australian destination. Adorned by picnic areas, beaches, stunning coves and of course the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, the harbour is the lifeblood of the city. It is also criss crossed with ferries, and vessels of all shapes and sizes undertaking both pleasure and commuting journeys.
Any first time visitor to Sydney should jump on board a ferry or cruise and sit back and enjoy the sites. The key gateway is Circular Key in the heart of the Sydney CBD, and is a busy terminus for water transport around the harbour.

There are several spots that are well worth a closer look including the heritage rich islands such as Goat, Rodd or Shark Islands. The foreshore of the harbour is well serviced with wonderful walking tracksincluding two Heritage walks, one from Rose Bay to Vaucluse, and Mosman Bay to Cremorne. If all this sounds a little tame, try a jet boat ride past the Sydney Opera House or jump on a sailing boat and hoist the sails on a windy day.
Sydney Harbour is a large part of what makes Sydney, Sydney. It is truly one of the worlds great harbours, surrounded by one of the world's best cities.
