Visa & Entry Requirements
A valid passport is required for all tourists for entry into Cyprus, with the exception of citizens of European Union countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway who may enter Cyprus with their national identity card provided it bears a photo. A visa is not required for stays of up to 90 days for most countries, including Australia, New Zealand, UK and Ireland, the US and Canada. For longer stays nationals will need to apply for a residence permit by contacting the civil registration and migration department. A return ticket is required for Australian, Canadian and US nationals.
The only legal points of entry into Cyprus are the airports of Larnaka and Pafos and the ports of Larnaka, Lemesos, Latsi and Pafos which are situated in the area under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. Entry into Cyprus via any other port or airport in which the Government does not exercise effective control is illegal.
As entry requirements may change from time to time it is strongly recommended to check with your local Cypriot embassy or consulate for any changes to visa requirements or travel restrictions.
