Yasawa Islands Information
Northeast of the more diminutive Mamanuca Islands, Fiji's Yasawa Group consists of 16 islands strewn like jewels along the blue sea for around 90 kilometres. These islands are both more rugged and larger than their southern neighbours and are also very sparsely populated. The Yasawas are a favourite and perfect spot for leaving the modern world behind and slipping into true holiday mode.
Amost all of the islands have fringing coral reefs, blue lagoons to swim in including some world-class dive spots, whilst the islands themselves have ample options for walking and trekking with mild grass covered hills right through to more challenging climbs through jungles on offer. These walks are often rewarded with stunning views across the island change at the summit.

There are plenty of budget priced backpackers around the islands, and more recently some mid priced resorts have sprung up as well.
The local villages welcome visitors who can enjoy some Fiji time with the locals during a Kava ceremony or lovo feast.
The Yassawa's can be accessed via the "Yassawa Flyer" which operates from Denarau Island.
