Situated about one-third of the way from Puerto Rico to Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis are a pair of tropical Caribbean islands. Originally settled by South American Indians and later fought over by the English, the Spanish and the French, the islands are now an independent state within the Commonwealth.

St Kitts and Nevis are an unspoiled tropical paradise bursting with vegetation, sunlight, crystal clear waters and fresh air. The islands exude a relaxed lifestyle to match the relaxed way of life of its people. St Kitts is also home to the spectacular Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano blanketed by a thick, dense forest. Nevis is known as one of the most exquisite resorts and spas in the world offering the visitor an elegant way of life. The island is scattered with historic sites and old buildings to interest any traveller on their Caribbean escape. For nature loving travelers the islands will not disappoint as there is abundant wildlife on both islands including tropical birds and many, many monkeys.

St Kitts is the larger of the two islands. There are many beautiful beaches on St Kitts as well as abundant water activities and many great bars. Other sites worth a visit on the main part of the island are the numerous former sugar plantations replete with majestic old world estates and the huge Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nevis is much smaller with one main road circling the island and one volcanic mountain. Charleston is the main town which has much charm and history on display and the island is also home to many spectacular beaches and has an abundance of sunshine. Whichever island you decide to visit you will not be disappointed, with sun, sand, blue sky and warm water, what more could you desire?
