Turks & Caicos Islands Travel Guide

Located in the North Atlantic Ocean southeast of the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands are two groups of largely unspoilt islands with an emphasis on ecotourism. Originally they were part of the UK’s Jamaican colony until 1959 when the title of a separate crown colony was assumed. After a push for independence for 1982 was reversed the islands are currently a British overseas territory.

Surprisingly these islands are not a hive of tourist activity making this location even more inviting and mysterious. This Caribbean destination offers any visitor boundless powdery sands and crystal clear waters. Perfect scuba diving conditions are also on offer together with breath taking natural reserves, sanctuaries and marine based national parks.

The most popular tourist location is around Grace Bay on Providenciales however if it is secluded bays and solitude you are after then the Grand Turk island is the place to visit. The Turks and Caicos islands are a natural hidden paradise filled with golden sands, clear blue water and wonderful sea life making them a truly wonderful place to visit.
