Chilling out beachside
Take a break from the Disney excitement with an escape to Laguna Beach. This seaside town is known for secluded coves, scenic beaches and romantic cliffs. It is also home to a thriving arts scene – there are dozens of galleries along with a busy roster of art fairs. This was also the setting for MTV’s Laguna Beach: the Real Orange County.
Around three million people visit Laguna every year. You too can take in close to six miles of protected coastline, enjoy the village atmosphere and indulge in boutique shopping and dining. Grab a spot on the sand, watch the locals tackle the waves and soak up some rays.
The fun of science
Anaheim’s Discovery Science Centre is a family-friendly science museum housing more than 100 interactive exhibitions and activities. Kids can unleash their curiosity and imagination on Dino Quest, the world’s first interactive dinosaur experience. As ‘research assistants’ they're equipped with research transmitters – all the better to help them solve challenges issued by scientists at Dino Quest HQ. They’ll get up close to life-sized dinosaurs, step inside the belly of a two-storey-high Argentinosaurus and capture a T-Rex on the loose.
The Centre is also home to Eco Challenge, Rocket Lab, Science of Hockey and Planetary Research Station exhibits, and a 10-storey solar cube and authentic Delta III rocket.
