Discovering your inner detective

Bailbrook House is a historic country hotel located just outside of Bath. This grand property was built as a private residence in the 1700s and is set on eight hectares of land with commanding views of central Bath and the surrounding countryside. The Cloisters Restaurant offers fine-dining and the Conservatory Bar is a good place to relax over drinks.

One of the hotel’s most exciting offerings is the Murder Mystery weekend. The mystery begins on Saturday afternoon, when you and other guests gather for tea in the conservatory, and continues through a three-course dinner in the evening. You all spend the night puzzling through the clues, before attempting to solve the murder mystery over Sunday breakfast.

Your own glass bubble

The Bath Aqua Glass is where you can watch skilled glassblowers produce handmade artistic glassware. These experienced craftspeople are able to transform lumps of molten glass into incredible shapes and designs.

Once you've seen the experts at work, you can take a turn at this unusual craft yourself. The glassblowers teach you all the steps, from gathering the glass from the furnace to blowing it into the form you want. At the end, you have a glass paperweight crafted by your own hand.
