Ride the slopes at Ski Dubai
Kempinski Hotel is the only hotel in Dubai offering views of the famous indoor snow resort. Spend the day skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing or simply enjoying this amazing winter setting. Ski Dubai has five runs of varying difficulty and length. The longest covers 400 metres with an exciting fall of more than 60 metres.
Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, all skiers and snowboarders can find a run that suits their level. When you’re ready to take a break from the slopes, enjoy a meet-and-greet with the friendly snow penguins; sightsee in the chairlift; or sip on hot chocolate at the themed cafes.
Visit Sheikh Saeed’s House
It’s a worth exploring the official residence of Sheik Saeed Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai between 1912 and 1958. Dating back to the 19th Century, the house is one of the city’s oldest residences. Once the seat of local government, it was also the centre point for political and social organisations.
It is now listed as a national monument and houses a unique collection of historic photographs, coins, stamps and other documents examining Dubai’s history. Overlooking the water, the building itself is an attractive model of Arabian architecture. Wander around and admire the high-beamed ceilings, carefully sculpted windows and arched doorways, characteristic of late-1800s building design.
