A medieval moment with Vikings

You can learn about medieval Dublin, get up close and personal with the Vikings, and experience the world of a history hunter at Dublinia, located just two kilometres from the hotel. Open every day, Dublinia houses three exhibitions that provide insight into how the locals lived through various ages.

During your visit, you can try on actual Viking clothes, board their boats and enter a cramped Viking house. You can also experience medieval Ireland and visit a rich merchant’s kitchen. You may want to finish your visit by climbing the 96 steps of Dublinia’s 17th-Century viewing tower for panoramic views of the city.

Journey back 800 years

Some of the most prestigious State Rooms in the country are just over 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel at one of Ireland’s most significant historical sites, Dublin Castle. In a single visit, you can view some of the oldest surviving architecture in the city, which dates back as far as 1204.

Walk in the footsteps of English viceroys at their former residences, known as State Apartments, and step back in time with a visit to the 13th-Century record tower. Dublin Castle is the site of the most pivotal events in Ireland’s history and it houses museums, cafes and gardens, so there’s plenty to fill your day.
