Park life for the whole family

Famous bands such as REM, Oasis and Green Day are a few of the international artists who’ve played to crowds of thousands in Marlay Park, just a seven-minute drive from the hotel. This park is an entertainment hub in more ways than one, with its 121 hectares of space making it a lovely day out, especially for families.

You can start with a stroll through the lush woodlands, or by visiting the cascading waterfall and checking out the miniature railway, which is run by the Dublin Society of Model and Experimental Engineers. Don’t forget to take advantage of the two action-packed playgrounds and the craft centre, which offers private workshops.

Letting your imagination run wild

If the kids are tired of touring the historic buildings, museums and art galleries that Dublin is famous for, there’s a great child-friendly alternative not far from the hotel. Imaginosity, the Dublin Children’s Museum, was created especially for the little ones. It has the educational elements of a traditional museum combined with fun and stimulating interactive exhibits that are bound to produce smiles all around.

The food game race in a mock supermarket aisle is great fun. You can also look through the periscope of a submarine, pick a song on the jukebox and post a letter at the post office – there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained all day long.
