Cruising down the Grand Canal

The Grand Canal's main line stretches for 131 kilometres through Dublin and across Ireland, originally designed for trade boats to transport goods such as barrels of Guinness. Building began in 1756 and now, more than 250 years later, you can traverse the Canal’s banks and waters in a variety of ways.

You may prefer to indulge on a dinner cruise, enjoy a guided bike tour, go sailing or kayaking, or even windsurf this historic waterway. You can also take a leisurely walk along the edge, thanks to a flat path that runs along its entire length. Feel free to meet some of the locals at the Let’s Walk and Talk group, which convenes every Tuesday at 2pm outside The Barge Pub at Charlemont Mall, just 1.3 kilometres from the hotel.

Party with the locals

There’s a permanent party waiting just a three-minute drive from the hotel, where you can experience the true taste of Irish entertainment. Immerse yourself in the party atmosphere at The Irish House Party, a venue consistently voted as one of the top 10 things to do in Dublin.

Once you enter the 18th-Century townhouse, you step into a world of traditional Irish music and dancing, performed by champion local musicians and entertainers. You can also savour the flavours of Irish cuisine, with an authentic dinner such as beef and Guinness stew or Dublin coddle and root vegetable soup, served with Irish brown bread.
