Attractions near the Harding Hotel

Ringing the ancient cathedral bells

Since the year 1028, the Christ Church Cathedral has been the spiritual heart of Dublin and almost 1,000 years later it still opens its doors to everyone. Just a one-minute walk from the hotel, this historic building is home to one of the largest medieval crypts in Britain and Ireland, complete with a mummified cat and mouse.

With 19 functioning bells, the oldest dating back to 1738, the Cathedral provides a rare opportunity to join in the ringing under expert supervision during a guided tour. Another highlight is hearing the grand sounds of the giant 14-metre-high organ, which has a central role in the Pipeworks International Organ Festival.

Mingle with the stars

A seven-minute stroll from the hotel through the streets of Dublin takes you to the National Wax Museum Plus, Ireland’s answer to the famed Madame Tussauds in London. The Wax Museum sits in the heart of the popular Temple Bar district, where you can find various restaurants and bars.

This four-storey attraction is filled with famous faces from Ireland’s cultural heritage, along with modern-day political, sporting and pop culture figures. There's also the obligatory wax chamber of horrors for those seeking a spookier time and if you feel like rocking out, you can make your own rock video in the sound recording studio.
