The land of saints and scholars

There are few better ways to learn a little more about the 'land of saints and scholars' than by retracing the footsteps of Ireland’s literary geniuses such as Yeats, Wilde and Joyce. From the hotel, you need only take a 15-minute walk along O’Connell Street, which leads you to the Dublin Writer’s Museum.

Housed in a traditional restored Georgian mansion, the Museum showcases the history of writers and poets through exhibits, displays and portraits including busts of the most famous in the Gallery of Writers. You may want to check out the library, home to many valuable pieces such as first-edition works and signed copies of books and poetry. After your informative tour, you can visit the bookshop for some souvenirs or reading material.

The treasures of Trinity College

The hotel is located just five minutes’ stroll from the Trinity College Library, home to the renowned Book of Kells and the world-famous Long Room. The Book of Kells, housed in the stunning 18th-Century Long Room, possesses a historic beauty, as do the thousands of other ancient manuscripts and books on display.

The Long Room is like something from a movie set, with truly impressive architecture and high arched ceilings. Depending on your style, it may be worth paying a little extra to take a guided tour not only of the library, but also of the surrounding Trinity College.
