Attractions near the Courtyard Edmonton Downtown

Attend a Citadel Theatre show

In downtown Edmonton, you’ll find five performance spaces that fall under the Citadel Theatre umbrella. This comprises one of Canada's biggest not-for-profit theatres. It has also been ranked in the top three regional theatres in the country. More than 110,000 theatre-goers visit the Citadel every season.

The theatre works hard to develop local talent – both on stage and behind the scenes – and many Albertans feature in each performance. The theatre offers a lively annual schedule, suitable for both seasoned theatre-goers and those new to the live stage.

Visit Louise McKinney Riverfront Park

Depending on which room you stay in at the Courtyard Edmonton Downtown, you may well have views of the appealing Louise McKinney Riverfront Park. This park is the closest to downtown Edmonton. It also provides a link to other areas of the city, including the Henrietta Louise Edwards Park via a footbridge over the North Saskatchewan River.

The park is named after Louise McKinney, the first woman elected to Canadian government. As well as offering lots of green space for you to relax in, Louise McKinney Park has a public dock that can be used for small boats. You’ll also find a Chinese garden, a bookable gazebo with electricity and a shelter with public bathrooms along the promenade.
