A celebration of Florentine culture

The famous Loggia dei Lanzi outdoor museum in Florence's Piazza della Signoria is a delightful exhibition of some of the city's iconic sculptures including Cellini's grand bronze statue of Perseus. This much-loved sculpture gallery sits on the outside of a building positioned on the corner of a square underneath large wide arches, which open onto the street.

Take advantage of the free entry into this fantastic Renaissance collection, and as you wander around, get up close to appreciate the remarkable details in the beautiful sculptures.

San Miniato el Monte

Revel in the spiritual ambience, superb Tuscan-Romanesque architecture and unsurpassed views across all of Florence from one of the most beautiful churches in Italy. San Miniato el Monte ('St Minias on the Mountain') has sat high on a hillside on the outskirts of the city since its construction began in 1013. Hike up the 400-plus steps to be rewarded with the breathtaking sight of the marble facade and highly decorated cupola of San Miniato.

Wander inside to discover the elaborate frescoes and intricately carved pavement dating from 1207. Stop in at the shop after touring the church to pick up some liqueurs, honey or herbal tea made by the neighbouring Oliventine monks.
