The Mira is located in the upmarket area of Tsim Sha Tsui in Southern Kowloon. Accordingly the area offers ample luxury shopping opportunities. While it does have it's sleek areas, Tsim Sha Tsui isn't without its quirky charm as well. The area is home to an eclectic array of shops, with camera stores clustered around Champagne Court and fantastic Indian food to be found throughout.

The hotel is also within a short walking distance of Victoria Harbour. A fascinating area to explore, the harbour offers many cruises that are ideal for learning about the history of this hub city and seeing just how expansive and busy this port is. Each night you can also witness the harbour's famed light show. Entitled 'A Symphony of Lights,' the show is the largest permanent light and sound show in the world.

Go back to the future

Kowloon is home to a number of museums and cultural areas. For one of the best introductions to Hong Kong, you can delve back into the city's past with a visit to the Hong Kong History Museum. The museum covers all aspects of Hong Kong's 'story' covering the city's prehistoric beginings through to modern politics and it's return to China.

From the past to the future, you can also visit the Hong Kong Space Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui. The museum features a large dome for star gazing as well as other gadgets and toys for star gazers to play with. Within the museum you'll also find the Hall of Space Science and the Hall of Astronomy, all of which include signs in multiple languages.
