Fort Kochi and the beach
Fort Kochi is one of the most frequented areas in the city. Positioned along the water, the Fort became the first European settlement in India, but is now a popular tourist attraction. Nearby are a few quality hotels including the Hotel Fort Queen, which features spacious rooms and multiple onsite restaurants.
Fort Kochi has a selection of historic attractions such as the Chinese fishing nets (featured in many Kochi images), St Francis Church and the Jewish Synagogue. You can also have a taste of history with your accommodation by residing in the Le Colonila, dating back to 1506. Its walls are lined with art and the outdoor pool is surrounded by tropical plants.
Reach your dreams of luxury
Despite being a small city, Kochi has a surplus of hotels that includes a good range of luxury brands and styles. These hotels rarely fail to deliver heavenly rooms, relaxing facilities and a prime location near Kochi's sights. Near the top of the bunch is the Crowne Plaza, where you can indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments or take to the links at the nearby 18-hole golf course.
Combine the country's heritage with contemporary styles at the Vivanta by Taj, by staying in spacious rooms with antique furnishings, modern conveniences and sea views. Alternatively, you can stay at the Brunton Boatyard, positioned right on the mouth of the harbour.
Budget Kochi hotels
Budget accommodation in Kochi lets you stay in the city and enjoy the sights and beach without having to burn your wallet for a roof over your head. Fort House, one of the most popular, is situated by the water with comfortable rooms around a tropical garden.
With money saved on accommodation, you might want to splurge on a trip to WonderLa theme park, Silverstrom Water Park or on a performance at the Kerala Fine Arts Complex. Other budget-friendly hotels include the serene Palm Grove and the BTH Sarovaram.
