Tanjung Aru is cool for kids

Set over 10 hectares of landscaped gardens, this award-winning resort offers a variety of amenities. Talk a walk through the gardens laden with native tropical flowers, laze by the pool or enjoy a treatment at ultra-luxurious CHI The Spa, set on its own private island.

Families will be delighted by the attention given to children. At check-in, children are given priority along with a welcome drink and kids’ activity pack. There’s a children’s-only area at breakfast and, when accompanying their parents at Café TATU, under-12s eat free. Outdoors there’s a wet play area with water slides, not to mention one of the most popular spots in the resort – the Cool Box Ice Cream Bar, which is packed with delicious treats. The most appealing facility for children (and their parents) is the resort’s Cool Zone Kids’ Club. This kiddie retreat is led by a team of staff who offer up a diverse programme of events and activities.

Don’t Miss Crocker Range Park

Not far inland from Tangjung Aru Resort is Crocker Range Park. Set on around 140,000 hectares, this spectacular nature reserve is about twice the size of Singapore.

Home to three of the most endangered species in the world – the Orangutan, the Sun Bear and the Clouded Leopard – Crocker Range Park offers the chance to see these amazing animals in their natural habitat. If you’re going to dedicate a day to one place while visiting this part of the world, this is it.
