Summertime hiking to Lake Agnes

With a prime location just one kilometre from Lake Louise, a visit in the warmer months offers beautiful scenery, wildflowers galore and a wide range of hikes on your doorstep. Set out on the half-day Lake Agnes hike and be rewarded not only with majestic views, but also a stop at a charming log cabin teahouse (circa 1910) before you continue on to discover more breathtaking vistas.

There are many longer walks on offer, but water babies might like to discover the lake itself in a canoe. Paddle about and explore at your own pace or learn as you go with an experienced guide. Whether you’re on foot or in a canoe, memories of the blue waters and towering snow-capped mountain surrounds will last a lifetime.

Set your heart soaring high

Get set to see the Rockies from a whole new perspective – from 6,850 feet. The Lake Louise Gondola will take you up and away, and it’s only once you reach the top that you’ll really appreciate just how majestic the Canadian Rockies are.

Sprawled out beneath you, you’ll marvel at panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, glaciers and lakes, and learn about the wildlife and natural history of the area on a guided hike. The ride to the top takes just 14 minutes in your choice of a traditional enclosed gondola or open chair. Once you reach the summit, take as long as you like to admire the sights before heading back down again.
