Discover a little Asia in Lyon

Lyon might be known as the gastronomic capital of France and the world, thanks to its local food specialities, but it’s also home to one of the largest Chinatowns in France. A short car ride from the hotel gets you to Lyon’s Chinatown, which features an array of authentic Asian restaurants and specialty stores.

Stroll along Rue Pasteur and Rue Passet for a change of pace and atmosphere from the rest of the city. This is where you can find exotic Asian fruits and vegetables, as well as the superbly-stocked Supermarche Asie supermarket.

Stroll through historic Vieux Lyon

Lyon’s Old Town, known locally as 'Vieux Lyon', was named as the very first protected historical area in France in 1964. Following a period of decline, and threats of renovation and redevelopment in the area, the council ruled to protect the 24-hectare quarter at the foot of Fourviere Hill.

Old Lyon is comprised of three distinct districts: the artisanal district of Saint-Georges, the Saint-Jean district of the church, and the bourgeois and financial district. You can wander the narrow winding streets of each one to discover hidden bars and restaurants. Climb the steep steps to the ancient amphitheatre and cathedral nearby for spectacular views of the region’s surrounds.
