Soaking in the hot springs
You can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of a Japanese onsen without having to leave the hotel, thanks to a variety of indoor and outdoor hot spring baths that include options suitable for families with children, female-only indoor baths and in-room onsen baths where privacy is assured.
The hot spring water is continually filtered and recirculated to keep it clean without removing beneficial minerals. Warm water and soothing aromas combine with the hotel's green surroundings to set the perfect mood for relaxation, while the water's high sulphur content improves blood circulation and eases physical and mental stress.
The historic Shimabara Castle
The Shimabara Peninsula boasts many natural and man-made marvels, and Shimabara Castle is one of its most significant historical sites. Originally built in 1618, the Castle was destroyed during the Meiji period, but faithfully rebuilt in 1963 in line with the original design.
As well as being the home of a 17th-Century castle, the area was also the site of the milestone Shimabara Rebellion, when the region's oppressed Christians rose up against the Shigemasa Matsukura. Thousands lost their lives in the struggle and their sacrifices are remembered in a detailed museum located inside the Castle.
