Indulge your sweet tooth
Centrally located on Lexington Avenue, W New York is amongst the thick of Manhattan’s action with Grand Central, Times Square and Rockefeller Center all within a short walk. Another short walk up town and just one block over is where you'll find one of New York's favourite spots - Serendipity. A luxurious dessert restaurant made famous in the movie of the same name, Serendipity is a quintessential New York experience. With ample options for a sweet tooth, the restaurant's most popular offering is their frozen hot chocolate - a cream topped concoction that is far from diet friendly.
Granted, you don't have to be a dessert fan to dine here (they also serve mains including burgers, sandwiches and pastas), but it'd be a shame to come all this way and not indulge on something a little sweet something. If money is no option you can also indulge a lot with the UA$1000 Golden Opulence Sunday. With a place in the Guinness World Records, the sundae features a decadent concoction of gourmet ice-cream, rare chocolate, sweet dessert caviar and edible gold leaf in a myriad of forms.
Witness Warhol at MOMA
Another few blocks over from W New York is the city's beloved Museum of Modern Art, also known as MOMA. A beacon of the city's creative energy, the museum displays works from New York's most famous modern artists including Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons. While there are permanent pieces on display, MOMA also hosts a number of temporary exhibitions from both local and international artists.
If modern art isn't exactly to your interests, MOMA's bookstore and dining venues are still worth visiting. There are three dining venues within the contemporary building spanning casual dining right up to a formal dining space that overlooks the charming Abby Aldrich Rockafeller Sculpture Garden.
