The history of motorcycles
Less than two kilometres from the hotel is the Cyprus Classic Motorcycle Museum, where you can dive deep into the world and history of motorcycles, specifically the ones made famous for endeavours in Cyprus. As museums go, this is one of the most unique in the country, boasting a collection of over 150 motorcycles built between 1914 and 1983.
You’d be hard pressed to avoid seeing the World War II military motorcycles, or visiting the film room and collection of motorcycle photographs. There’s also a small coffee shop, and if you’re searching for that elusive part for your own bike, you might find it in the Museum’s accessories shop.
Nicosia’s Old City
Cross the small river near the hotel and head into Nicosia’s Old City to immerse yourself in the country’s history and culture. You’ll experience both modern and ancient parts of Nicosia, which have their own unique traits and appeals. Old City’s streets are narrow and often feel more like intimate alleyways nestled amongst beautiful architecture.
If you’re seeking that old-school culture, you needn’t look any further than the sights and attractions in Old City like the Slimiye Mosque and the Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion. Shops range from traditional art and craft stalls, to boutique and designer-brand stores. You’ll also have access to traditional Cyprus cuisine at numerous restaurants and bars.
