Visit the acclaimed Musee Rodin
Dedicated to treasured French sculpture artist, Auguste Rodin, the Musee Rodin is a must-see on the Paris art trail. Opened in 1919, the permanent collection includes famous works such as The Thinker, The Kiss and The Gates of Hell, as well as works from Camille Claudel and paintings from Monet, Renoir, Lemoyne, Cottet and Van Gogh.
Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens, filled with many of Rodin’s works. You can walk by the rose garden, ornamental garden and spaces designed to help you relax and soak it all in. Be sure to stop off at the garden's cafe for a coffee, before stocking up on souvenirs, designer jewellery, and reproductions of drawings and sculptures at the on-site store.
Wander through the Tuileries Gardens
Separating the Louvre from the Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Gardens is a popular walking place for Parisians and tourists alike. Dating back to the 16th Century, the Gardens is named after the tile factories that formerly stood on the site. Nowadays, visitors are seen relaxing by the two ponds or passing famous statues by the likes of Maillol, Rodin and Giacometti.
Located to the west of the Tuileries is the Musee de l’Orangerie. Take the time to visit this impressive museum, which displays Claude Monet’s famed Water Lilies paintings. From June to August, you can explore the Fete des Tuileries; a fair with around 60 attractions including dodgem cars, duck fishing, candy floss waffles and toffee apples.
