Wander through Bercy Park

Bercy Park is located on a property that once housed the Bercy Wineries. After falling into disuse, the wine warehouses were abandoned and the entire district was redesigned. Reopened in 1994, Bercy Park is now a landscaped area made up of three distinct sections.

The first is a vast meadow featuring beautiful trees, small kiosks and the Canyonaustrate. The second is the Les Parterres’, which boasts nine themed gardens including a rose garden, labyrinth and a kitchen garden with herbs. The third section of the Park is called the Romantic Garden and includes fascinating ruins of former buildings. In the north of Bercy Park is the Cinematheque, a film museum designed by celebrated architect Frank Gehry.

The magnificent La Madeleine

This impressive church was designed as a temple to honour Napoleon’s army and was built in a neoclassical style inspired by an iconic Roman temple. It’s a sight to behold, surrounded by 52 Corinthian columns that each stretch up 20 metres high.

Step inside to encounter detailed sculptures, paintings and the famous neo-Byzantine mosaic created by Charles-Joseph Lameire. Throughout the year, the church hosts a series of classical music concerts, which are a memorable occasion for anyone lucky enough to witness them.
