Attractions near the Veneto Hotel

Location, location, location

At the Veneto Hotel, many of Rome's most-popular sights and attractions are right on your doorstep. Wander down to the neighbouring high-end street of Via Veneto and join the throngs of well-heeled local fashionistas and tourists checking out the classy boutiques or enjoying a cappuccino from a street-side cafe.

If you fancy escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, stroll to the nearby Villa Borghese gardens to bask in the manicured green surrounds, romantic sculptures and fabulous views across the city, or revel in famous artworks at the Borghese Gallery. Once you've been sufficiently seduced by 'The Eternal City', head down to the spectacular Trevi Fountain and toss a coin over your shoulder, which as legend has it, should ensure you return to Rome one day.

Optical illusion amidst opulent splendour

Skirting the edge of the charming Piazza di Sant'Ignazio, the Church of Sant'Ignazio di Loyola is an awe-inspiring religious attraction with a spectacular trompe l'oeil illusion that will bend your mind. Painted by Antoinio Pozzo in 1642, the spectacular frescoed ceiling showing St Ignatius Loyala being welcomed into heaven by Jesus appears to curve despite the fact it's completely flat.

Stand on the painted yellow spot in the nave of the church to better see the illusion, but be warned, you may end up with a stiff neck if you stare for too long!
