Attractions near Holiday Inn Darling Harbour

Children’s park for the fun-hearted

Just a short walk from the hotel is one of the city’s favourite playgrounds for children, Tumbalong Park. With five hectares to explore, there’s plenty of run-around room, along with sprawling water-play areas including 26 water jets and other features.

The play equipment will have kids occupied for hours, from jumbo swings and a big slide to a tangled web and 10-metre high octanet to climb. There are also paddleboats to hire. The park is encircled by cafes and bistros for refreshments, and just a short distance away is the Chinese Garden of Friendship for something a little more tranquil.

Wander the waterside wharves

Situated on the western outskirts of the city centre, Darling Harbour is a lovely place to spend some time. As a large and lively recreational and pedestrian precinct, Darling Harbour attracts visitors from all over the world.

One of the prettiest spots at dusk is King Street Wharf, a gorgeous area featuring superb dining spots dotted along the water’s edge and boardwalk.  Now a sophisticated waterside neighbourhood, King Street Wharf offers many fine-dining choices.

Another pleasant waterside location is Cockle Bay Wharf on the CBD side of Darling Harbour. There are more amazing alfresco dining spots here, and at night, the area transforms into an adult playground with trendy bars and cosmopolitan nightclubs that you will have you dancing into the early hours of the morning.
