The best views in Taipei
A short walk from your hotel you’ll find Taipei 101, which was the tallest building in the world between 2004 and 2010. This 101 storey high building has an observation deck on the 89th floor, which boasts the best views across Taipei and beyond.
Reach the observation deck in one of the world’s fastest elevators, which rockets up through the building at 63 kilometres an hour. If you’re feeling especially brave, head up to the 91st floor where you can step onto an outdoor deck. Don’t miss a peek at the huge gold-coloured wind damper that serves as a stabiliser for the entire building during earthquakes and typhoons. Inside you’ll find a number of restaurants and a six-storey shopping mall, which is home to hundreds of retail outlets. There’s also a very good food court in the basement.
