Italian food lovers are in for a treat – Costa Cruises' Italian heritage is evident with plenty of regional Italian fare traditionally prepared with top quality, fresh ingredients. Authentic Italian cuisine is complemented by sumptuous international dining.
Passengers have a choice of two restaurants and seven bars onboard the Costa Classica. A different Italian region is represented each night, and international meals are devised to reflect the cruise regions visited. Inclusive dining is available in the opulent main restaurants as well as buffet-style for a more casual meal. Vegetarian options and healthy choices are included and indicated on all menus. There are also themed, al fresco and midnight buffets, so you definitely won't go hungry. A kids menu is available at all meal times, as are prepaid beverage cards so youngsters can get drinks on board whenever they like.
Breakfast can be taken in cabin, buffet-style or in the restaurants; free seating arrangements apply at breakfast. Pre-breakfast coffee and croissants are served from dawn on deck for early birds. Lunch is also served in the restaurants and buffet. All included dining is per a free-seating arrangement.
It’s always a good idea to book ahead in speciality restaurants. Table reservations can be made up to five days prior to departure. A per-head service charge applies in speciality restaurants, though all suite passengers receive a complimentary a la carte reservation.
A 24 hour room service menu is available to all passengers.
Dietary requirements can be catered for if advised in advance. Costa works with the Italian Coeliac Association to accommodate gluten-free diets.
The dress code on all ships is casual during the day and smart casual in the evening (jeans are discouraged and no shorts after 6pm). Cruises of seven days or more have two formal nights where cocktail dresses and suits are de rigueur.
Kids programs are fleet wide and complimentary. All young cruisers receive a guide to kid’s events as soon as they get on board, so they can start planning their cruise straight away! There is a dedicated games room for kids, with a pirate ship and lego brick room for imaginations to run wild in, or video games on the latest consoles when those legs need a rest. Each cruise has two themed nights for kids where dining and entertainment is all included. This is perfect for parents who can make their own fun knowing that their young ones are well supervised.
Supervised programs are on board all ships for young cruisers aged from 3 to 17 years old across four age groups; Mini 3 to 6 years, Maxi 6 to 12 and two teen groups for 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 year olds.
