Virgin Economy X and Lounge Offer To Frequent Flying Kangaroos

Right through to the end of August, Qantas Gold, Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers and Qantas Club members can step into new territory and access Virgin Australia lounges when they book and fly in Virgin’s Economy X.

Economy X Extra Legroom - a Nice Surprise

Qantas Frequent flyers will be pleasantly surprised by Economy X’s extra legroom on board and dedicated overhead locker space that goes quite a bit beyond the standard economy service. But wait there’s more. Also included is priority security screening and priority boarding on the ground (where available) for a very reasonable $29-59 fee per flight.

So for those business travellers whose companies are footing the bill for their regular economy seat can pay the Economy X cost themselves through Virgin Australia’s website, with no need for tickets to be re-issued or needing to contact your travel booker to change seats. You can even purchase Economy X seats at the airport on your day of departure at the same price.

What Do You Need To Do To Book?

Simply go online and book yourself a Virgin Australia domestic flight for travel between now and August 31 2017, and purchase an Economy X seat during the booking process, via Virgin’s ‘manage my booking’ tool. If you have already booked and purchased your flight when checking-in, select a purple-coloured Economy X seat on the seat selection page and pay the added charge.

What Do You Need To Do To Access The Lounge?

In order to access the lounge, just present your Economy X boarding pass at any of Virgin Australia’s domestic lounges, along with your Qantas Club or Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold, Platinum or Platinum One membership card, for lounge access.

Note that Virgin Australia’s domestic lounges can be found in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide, Darwin, Cairns, Gold Coast, Mackay and Alice Springs. Qantas members are able to access the Virgin lounge up to two hours prior to their Virgin Australia flight’s scheduled departure time.

Can You Bring A Guest?

Eligible Qantas members travelling in Economy X can bring one guest into Virgin Australia’s lounges during this period, note that accompanying guest must also be travelling in Economy X with the Qantas cardholder on the same flight.

Lounge access is not available to Qantas Club or Qantas Frequent Flyer members booked to fly in ‘regular’ Virgin Australia economy and this promotion isn’t available to Economy X passengers on Virgin Australia international flights.
