After two years living in the UK and working as a Nanny, Angela de Aizpurua returned to Australia with a new found passion for travelling - determined to share her travel experiences.
“My favourite place to visit would have to be Egypt, the history there is incredible. When I was there it felt like a dream,” said Angela.
“I really want to go to Cuba, I know someone who has been and heard it’s great. So that is next on my travel bucket list.”
Her first thought was to pursue a career in retail when she settled back into Brisbane, but a friend recommended working for Flight Centre as a consultant. Her travel destiny was fulfilled.
“I love sending people on holidays to make their own memories. When they come in to tell us how great it was it’s a wonderful feeling,” she said.
In the eight months since joining Flight Centre, Angela has consistently won top sales awards, participated in a number of domestic and international educational trips and is on track to attend Flight Centre’s global conference in Singapore; reserved exclusively for the company’s top performers.
So how did Angela reach her potential?
“From the moment I started, I have received classroom and on-the-job training,” says Angela. “I love that I’m working towards a Certificate III in Tourism through work.”
Angela also attributes her success to the extensive support structure saying, “There are always people who you can call who are willing to help – it’s a really supportive environment.”
Angela hopes to continue moving up the Flight Centre ladder.
“I hope to become a Future Team Leader sometime this year and undertake Certificate IV in Frontline Management, in a couple of years I could be running my own store!”
This success story is one of many at Flight Centre, a leading travel group that takes pride in developing their talent to become the next generation of company leaders.
