9 Reasons To Quit Your Job & Spend The Rest Of Your Life Cruising

Exciting ports of call, all-day dining, cocktails, waterslides, kids clubs, themed parties. There isn’t much that cruising doesn’t offer. So why wouldn’t you quit your job and spend the rest of your life cruising? Here are nine reasons anyway…

See every continent, unpack once

Or should I say, move in once? Explore every continent and multiple cities on board a world cruise without the hassle of constantly repacking. Once you’ve arrived at your cabin, hang your Hawaiian shirt in the wardrobe and throw your swimmers into the drawers – this is your life now.

Never lift a finger again

Cruise and you’ll never have to cook or clean again. Your steward will kindly make your bed in the morning and your waiter will bring your martini shaken (not stirred) to your table. Need to book that shore excursion? Allow the concierge to make those arrangements. Need your delicates pressed and folded? Not a problem!

Feast like a king

Speaking of never having to lift a finger again, cruise full-time and you can ditch the apron for good! With a team of chefs working around the clock, you’ll be spoilt for choice no matter where you dine on board. Mix and match at the breakfast buffet and by night, dress up for dinner in the fine dining restaurant.

Learn a new skill

During the at-sea days, why not learn a new skill? Drag your partner along to learn the tango or join a group to learn how to make sushi. Get competitive during a game of shuffleboard, mini golf or ping pong or, if you’d prefer a more in-depth look into upcoming ports of call, attend a lecture hosted by a special guest.

Focus on you

When your life is a constant holiday, it can be hard to remain motivated to workout. Get your daily steps up and enjoy the fresh air by taking a walk on the upper decks or for a more focused workout, book a session with the resident personal trainer. Take a break and sip your coffee poolside, where you can soak up some vitamin D. Switch off in the afternoon and treat your skin to a rejuvenating facial at the spa.

Actually finish that book

Got a stack of unfinished books? Don’t worry, me too. Pack them for your cruise adventure and delve into the literary world. While on board, you’ll find plenty of nooks and crannies that make the perfect spots to relax with a book. Maybe it’s the cosy library, the adults-only area or your own private balcony.

Friends for life

Joining a group to learn new skills and dining with fellow cruisers is a guaranteed way to make friends for life. Before you know it, you’ll be rounding up the gang for trivia and pre-dinner cocktails!

Lap up the rewards

It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve cruised before, you’re eligible for rewards with your favourite cruise line. Perhaps you’ll score yourself some On Board Credit (OBC) to use as you desire or if you’re a seasoned cruiser, you may score gifts such as complimentary laundry services, internet and upgraded bathroom amenities.

Stretch your money further

By continuing to cruise! In doing so, you’ll get access to even more benefits, huge discounts on higher room categories and sometimes even free nights at sea. I repeat: Free. Nights. At. Sea!
