If you kayak for the thrills of a rough, down-stream run, you probably won't be interested in this list.

However, anyone who's a fan of scenic rivers and spectacular photo opportunities should start packing their paddles. From Cork to Cape Town, here are 10 cities you should consider seeing from the water.

1. Cork, Ireland

Atlantic Sea Kayaking runs trips on the River Lee around Cork, once called the Venice of Ireland, for a watery view of this maritime city’s quays, wharfs and bridges. Longer trips head down river, past Blackrock Castle, to the outer harbour, the Titanic’s last port of call. Atlantic wildlife, including seals and dolphins, are often seen.
