 Explore greener pastures in Auckland

DAY 1

Arrive into Auckland and jump on your hotel transfer shuttle. You will be staying at the ibis Budget Auckland Central, conveniently located right in the heart of town just a short stroll from all the places you will want to stare, shop and eat at.

DAY 2

A cup of quality kiwi coffee is a must to get you perked up for today’s adventures. Your day is split into two parts today: kick things off on a Taste of Segway tour with Magic Broomstick Segway Tours.

Starting at the Devonport Ferry Terminal, strap on your helmet and learn the ropes before wheeling around Cheltenham Beach and hooning through the back streets back of Devonport.

Later in the day, hop aboard the Fullers Harbour Cruise ferry, sit back and admire the city skyline views fading away on the horizon. Over the course of this one-and-a-half hour cruise you will see plenty of harbour highlights, including three of Auckland’s stand-out icons: the Auckland Harbour Bridge, SkyTower and Rangitoto Island.

The Waitakere Ranges are a hiker's paradise

DAY 3

You truly do get the best of both worlds today as Bush and Beach tours take you to Auckland City’s most captivating and historic sites, showcasing how the locals live and play.

Wander up Queen Street, through inner-city parks and the hip suburb of Ponsonby and taking a spin up Mount Victoria before crossing the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore.

By afternoon, the group will make its way to the Waitakere Ranges, swapping the sights and sounds of the city for the serenity of the rainforest on an eco-tour through lush forests.

DAY 4

Bush and Beach lead the charge again today, revealing the incredible array of food, wine and art on the Great Tastes of Matakana Tour.

A one-hour drive north will see you popping in to local Matakana Vineyards, tasting award-wining honey while watching busy bees at work, kicking up some handmade souvenirs, and lunching at the Mahurangi River Winery before taking a stroll along the stunning Brick Bay Sculpture Trail.

End your tour on a sweet note at Chocolate Brown for one last sneaky, chocolaty indulgence!

Now this is how you do a weekend...

DAY 5

You’ve had taste of Auckland’s food and wine scene, scoped out some of its diverse natural scenery and spent some time out on the water. The only thing left to do is satisfy your adventurous streak.

Head up to the Auckland Sky Tower for some heart-pumping extreme sightseeing. Take a SkyWalk around the outside of the tower with nothing between you and the ground but a 1.2-metre-wide platform, or up the ante with a SkyJump, New Zealand’s highest base jump by wire.
